Anyone think a Looping Star would be fitting for Dreamland?

Probably completely not viable, but it'd be great to see a looping star return to dreamland, after they've been so prominent in the history of the park.

Anyone know about the rides from Loundon? It'd be great to see that looping star back, repainted (that's the original one from dreamland, right?) or maybe Apollo.

Just quickly, one last thing, does anyone know if there's a rough date to start clearing the site? i'll be at the gates every day watching.. haha.. sad, i know :l

I too would love to see the looping star back at dreamland. The one which was at loudon is not the original dreamland one it was installed at Dreamland around 2001 and probably would not fit with the heritage theme. But the apollo/heatwave/plough chairswing would look great and would fit in dreamland and is very unique. It would be great for the park if it goes up for sale.

Also i may be wrong but i recon when work does start on the site a new wooden fence and lots of security barriers of some sort will be assembled around the park so no one can see whats going on. Thats what usualy happens when a park installs a new ride or area etc;its very annoying as I would love to watch and see the park being assembled but i recon they will make it so we cant peer in the site.

Would be nice if the brought back the blue looping star the one that the bembom brothers had. That would be nice would love to ride on that again.

Jim I think when they say 'blue' what they mean to say is the original model which was at the park in the 80's to mid 90's not the later orange and brown model which turned up early 00's which was called the 'Looping Star' but wasn't actually a looping star model.

Without doubt the original (prefered) or an identical looping star would be just what this park needs. It maybe a bit more modern than whats been purchased so far but its as important part of the parks history as the Scenic Railway. It was the rebirth of Dreamland it was cutting edge for its time and along with the Big Wheel commanded and defined the Margate skyline drawing people in and making Margate a premier Theme Park of its time. I'm convinced that without it Dreamland would have gone long before it did you went to Dreamland for the great rides but the Looping Star being a loop the loop (as I heard it called many times) was the biggest and greatest.

Yeah id love to see it back, not that i ever got to see it in the first place . Would be slightly off topic with the whole heritage theme but still. Anyone know whats happening with the arcade building to the far east of the site. Is it listed, or awaiting the bulldozer/arsonist?
