Thanks for info on buffet building I have drawn lines on a map to show how a path from the dreamland site can be connected to buffet weather the extra land in acquired or not.

Red: buffet building
Orange: not sure if the road going to be situated here.

Regarding blue top buildings/Yellow are they being demolished as it is blocking the views of the scenic from the sea front. I do not believe buildings to be old or aesthetically pleasing.

Can't really see where trees would go on the pavement along the seafront. Too narrow.

Look at the pic of what is proposed its much like what they have done over here in Southend.

Just wish you good luck that you don't get the protesters moaning about it, got a bunch here who protest any investment made by the council, road improvevements, seafront improvements, two for one tree policy and a new museum are all being fought over with protests and letters to the local rag demonising the council.

Narrow pavement. Busy road. Trees would overhang. Constantly have to be hacked back. Buildings would have light blocked. Possibility of damage by roots. There are other ways of making urban space look attractive.

Those are sort of high maintenance, and only a meter and a half high. Not much long distance impact and easily vandalized by the admittedly nasty hoodlum problem in Margate.

This plan for the seafront would certainly transform the bland depressing front that is currently there, looks similar to the work done on Great Yarmouth's front which has made a massive change there.

My personal thoughts are that the road could be narrowed considerably, allowing the pavement to be widened, here's a Google Maps screen capture.



If you look at the Google pic, the pavement could be opened out as far as the yellow advance line on the image without impeding traffic, which would allow for vegetation or other ornamentation.

It would be nice to see the seafront illuminations return on the arcade fronts. Either that or return the buildings to there original state i.e hotels with garden fronts.
Both are better than the boring frontage and temporary signage that currently exists.

It is true that most of the seafront signage is not the most attractive thing in the world. Hopefully some decent investment will be put into the seafront buildings in the next few years to change that.

As it was mentioned earlier, I think the only way to have trees on the seafront would be to have them planted into the ground every 5 to 6 meters rather than having them in plant pots where they would need more Maintenance and could be vandalized easily.

it would be nice if the council dropped rent and rates to give business a chance, every time i go to margate her indoors says what are we doing here and i say reminiscing, then she says come on love lets get you home for your medication, i tell her i ant on medication and she says you will be on monday when i take you to the doctors and tell him you drove 80 miles to margate and did not get out of the car, I DO HOPE MARGATE SORTS ITSELF OUT.
