Dreamland is to stay shut

I can confirm that dreamland will not be opening again, most of the rides have been sold now and all the fittings are off to. the only ride still up is the coaster and half of the jet ride

Hello Twistman,

I am now very confused! Your statement appears contrary to the recent posts that have suggested Dreamland will open this season for a period of time under Harry Ayers, and that he will be bringing-in loads of rides.

Are you speaking from an informed position, or drawing your own conclusions from the current state of the park?

Thanks,
David.

I said on the Harry Ayres post that he is a very experienced showman, i DID NOT say that he was going into dreamland, I have spoke to the manager, Barry Moss and the owner, Jimmy Godden and can tell you that the park is not to reopen this year.

Can anybody else confirm this?

Sorry but I have to point out that after being registered for three days and stating that you have Mr Godden's ear to ask him about this, does smell fishy to me.

that is your choice to beleive what i have to say, i have only been registered for a few days because i only found out about the campaign while i was down there and saw the posters on the windows to the park, that is why i logged onto the site and found what is here.

So please can you clarify in what capacity you know Mr Godden? Are you in the Theme Park / Travelling Fair business? Please excuse the directness of the questions, but as said earlier, we have not heard of you (or indeed know your real name), let alone in what capacity you speak. The campaign has been going for a long time now, and many of us have been here from the start, so we would like some kind of assurance that you are speaking in an official capacity, and not someone that has just stumbled across the park and its fate.

David.

Sounds like someone was ill-informed?

Confirmed by Whom ? Its looking increasingly unlikely that it will open as Easter has been and gone and still no official word of an opening date.

I think one needs to be realistic about these things and at present it does look unlikely. If no date is announced soon the May Bank holiday will be missed. In its current rundown state and without any real publicity it is not going to attract many people. The main focus needs to be in getting a new Theme Park in place. The last thing needed is another tacky shopping centre & so called arts centre which are al the rage will local councils at present

An advert in a paper hardly confirms the openening. You may have missed it but April 28th has been and gone and its still closed.

Untill some official Opening Announcement is made any rumours of it opening are just that rumours

I think you'll find it's only the 4th today!! Can anyone confirm if Harry Ayers is bringing in his own staff, and if the Scenic is up and running, will Dave, John and co be operating it? I also read in the local paper that he is aiming to be open for 21st May.Did anyone else see it?
Rebuild the scenic u know it makes sense!!

At this time as far as im aware nothing has been confirmed regarding the running of the scenic, as soon as it has been confirmed whether it will open or not im sure it will be posted on the latest news page,
