Thanet DC Planning Consultation Survey

Postby David Ellis » 26 May 2005, 21:21

Today I received a questionnaire from Thanet District Council asking for feedback on the most effective method for planning consultation (adverts, in newspapers, radio, website, letter to households, etc).

Anyone else get one? If so, are we going for a "united" answer?

BTW - It is headed up "Self Completion Questionnaire", so I am sitting here waiting for it to start completing itself...could be a long wait!

Hi David,

Yes, I got one of these too yesterday. Although I do not in any way reside in the Thanet area, I wonder, is my personal completion of a form really relevant?

Also, has anyone noticed the lack of a return envelope enclosed with this rather glossy publication? - maybe it's a ploy to reduce returns (or is that the cynic in me?)

The form doesn't seem to offer much in the way of real policy feedback to me. It appears to be just a marketing exercise, so I can't see how we could all really have much of an issue related common response (ie Dreamland related).

Yes, it's a lot of nothingness really. I agree.

There is no envelope, although it does use a FREEPOST address, so it won't cost postage.

I live nearly 3.5 hours drive from Thanet so I don't really have an opinion on the best method of communication, except that us coaster enthusiasts live far and wide, so any planning issues that affect Dreamland would be better channelled through websites rather than local newspapers in my opinion.
