Dates for your diaries

The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

Dates for your diaries

Information on all 2006 events will, of course, be on the News page once we have finalised details. But just so you can plan ahead, here are a couple of diary dates:

The first Dreamland Disco, Chatham, 29 April. It's about time we all let our hair down! There will be a miniscule entrance fee and a great big raffle, all proceeds to the Campaign's coffers. Our very own Hairy Vince will be providing the music. This is going to be a Big Night and I, for one, intend to dance myself dizzy. More news on this very soon.

Preston Steam Rally, nr Wingham, Kent, 24 and 25 June. This is a fabulous weekend and we had so much fun last year, that we're going back! Billie will be out in the sunshine again, and I'd love to uncover more ex-Dreamland kit and get it on public display. So if you know about any Caterpillers in garages, ticket booths in back gardens, or statues in living rooms please let me know. There's a gallery of photos from last year's Rally here: http://www.prestonservices.co.uk/rally.htm

If you've never come along to a Campaign event before I hope to see you at one or both of these. Our main aim is to spread the word about Dreamland's plight - but we always manage to enjoy ourselves in the process. And it's great meeting fellow campaigners and putting faces to names.

29th April should be an absolute classic. More news in the very near future....be there or be Bob.

Isn't Bob coming then, because he's signed up for the campaign website so I assumed he was a supporter (despite making the odd ironic joke)?

That's a shame as I was looking forwards to seeing him jiving away, bobbing up here and bobbing up there... I doubt I will be able to get there as I live a very long way away, but will do my best.

Hairy Vince - well it must be something in the name. See http://www.music-and-lights.co.uk

I am starting to wonder about us three Vince's now. Hairy and me are DJs and Vince (Charlie & Sam) and myself are interested in railway.

Are we the one person with split personalities? I hope not, I like being myself! :)

Vince. (Not too Hairy and no children!)

He should be going..It's not as if he needs permission for anything.
Please pass through the turnstiles if you are riding again.
