Rides have been arriving on the Dreamland site, not sure what is there at present. Also large ride on lorry on the site of the old arcade.

IF any one can get any pics of the new rides, or of anything happening on the site, let us all know.

...or a repeat of 2003 when some rides went up in flames after a few weeks :(

I suppose the fact rides are now arriving on site is what we've been expecting, but it will be interessting to see what they are.

Hey-it's Xmas come early. The rides in their lorries are like presents in wrapping paper...everyone gather round the tree...oh, never mind, all the trees have been chopped down...no-there is one...but it's behind the barricade!

Actually I used the plural as dramatic license...I'm thinking of the Waltzer, I guess it would be pushing it to name the Logflume control box thing (aren't I technical). Anyhow you've got me thinking now whether it was 2003.

Just wanted to make it clear that fire occured out of season and nothing to do with the operator Dave Wallis that season, and a few smouldering wires on the Log Drop didnt really warrant a "fire", as far as im aware George Webb is bringing all his own rides in and would hardly torch his own equipment unlike others you may be thinking of.

A Big Wheel has started to be installed today [Wednesday] where the seafront arcade used to be.

Thanks for that micktee, sounds promising. I wonder how big it will be, I'm guessing not as big as the original, although I'd love to be proven wrong.

Sorry to have caused confusion, Dave, but my reference to fire was simply a cheap pop at Mr Godden. I'm not saying he was connected with it (although the motive is clearly there), but all these coincidences are worth a few cheap jives.

I shouldn't think for a minute that George Webb would want to torch his owns rides, and I'm hoping and guessing the Scenic is in no immediate danger. I wonder what will happen to the old restraunt they couldn't get permission to demolish. Not that I'm making any allegations.

Yes, you're right about the Waltzer-it was November, and no I don't think Dave Wallis was connected. As I say it was suppossed to be a cheap joke and nothing too deep and meaningful. In terms of the Logflume I fully agree that can't be classed as a fire and even if there was it's hard to see how the owners would gain. I seem t have used quite a bit of dramatic license and clearly it's been taken as more than a cheap joke, I suppose this just goes to show that we have to be careful about what we say.

Just a few questions:

Who is paying for this big wheel

How long will it be there

Has anyone found out where it has come from i.e any other theme park in Britain

On my way to work this morning i saw the middle of the Big Wheel, i thought they were putting a Frisbee or an Afterburner type ride, then i realised there wasnt enough space! On the way back i see most of a GIANT WHEEL as its called erected...everyone was slowing down looking at it and passers byy looking up at it, looks great on the seafront
