Just wondering if anyone's approached Waterbridge about restoring the greenspace to Dreamland. Perhaps they could be persuaded to do so and operate the place. Maybe it wouldn't be the bonanza thay'd hoped for, but properly restored, long term, it would certainly carry it's own and it would be worth it's weight in gold in public relations goodwill to the company.

Just a thought.
Just seems like this company probably has the resources to carry out the work.
They could hold the leases to the eateries and snack vendors on the site.

I think Waterbridge realise that the park has been deliberately run down, the problem is developers often build unpopular develpments. Across the road from me they are developing some farmland into 1,200 houses and that has really got people angry. The really successful developers often aren't that fused about public opinion (although I'm sure there are some that are)

They've spent £25 million on buying 60% of the land and now they want a profit. They aren't likely to get that money back with an amusment park. Of course it is their fault for giving Jimmy Godden so much money, but there you go.

Also it takes quite a bit of skill to run a successful theme park. Although everyone has to start somewhere I'm not sure Waterbridge have what it takes. We really need to get the park out of Waterbridge's hands and that won't be easy.

Again I see what you're saying about the green space. You could always email them about it as their reaction would be interesting, but when I emailed them some people didn't like it. I know it does sound a bit like I'm poo pooing you, but I do fully agree about that the park will never be a real success while it feels like rides plonked nilly willy on concrete.

I'd think they could/would lease to an operator. I know they'd have no interest in actually running it.

Perhaps I'll pop them a quick e-mail and suggest they consider long term lease rather than redeveloping. They could sweeten the deal by installing the green islands.
