ya but overall as Dave said you cant compare Dreamland to Thorpe Park since the difference in size, ammount of people it brings in etc. I personally think Dreamland could be a great park but of course it would never have massive rides like Thorpe Park can. The other comment about being against the grain, I kinda know what you mean but if people want to pay a bit more and not have to que I'm not going to complain.

Hi All,
I spent yesterday afternoon at Southend, only half an hour by car from where I Live.
Guess what.... Adventure Island was packed!
We all know what needs to happen... some how Philip M needs to 'get his hands on' Dreamland. We know it makes sense.

I was also at Adventure Island yesterday with some friends and their children yesterday afternoon. What a shame we couldn't have met up! (if I knew what you looked like)
Yes, the park got pretty busy after lunchtime but the rain was threatening about 6pm. Not sure if you got the snow later on your side but it was pretty bad on the Kent side in the evening. I expect the park had to close early last night if the weather did get bad.
I thought the park still looked good, and with the addition of a few new attractions and food areas. I didn't go on much as I only rode with the children but I still had fun; will probably return again in the summer, or maybe when the European Coaster Club attend on May 14 this year.

PS Yes - it's a real no brainer really; Dreamland really needs someone like Mr Miller to raise its game

Two quick questions:
1) Has the park had a clean up since last season? (I went last year and there was loads of chewing gum in the Logflume tunnel and graffiti all over some walls in the Crooked House).
2) Has the new Blackbeards opened yet? If so is it any good and have they got rid of the Mermaid illusion?
