MTCRC and Toby Hunter

The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

That's the kind of good news we like to hear.

If tourist retail is to spring up, it should be mixed into the attractions and eateries in I Dream of Dreamland. All good parks have a few places to buy a nice shirt or coffee mug as a momento.

The Save Dreamland Campaign's formal response to Toby Hunter's accusations have been printed in today's Gazette. We have reproduced it in full on the News page:

Great stuff! I am pleased that the Gazette has finally allowed our voice to be heard properly.

I still fail to see why Mr. Hunter thinks he's been personally attacked, unless someone (falsly) told him he had been.
This is business, nothing personal. We understand Waterbridge owns the land and wants to develope it for the highest profit/shortest turnaround.

I think they could spend less, restore the grounds, and lease it to an operator(s)+ vendors/retailers long term for a more than satisfactory return in the long run.
