The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

Considering these rides have been on site for some time now it does make you wonder why the park is still not ready for opening, thats three Bank Holidays that have been missed now so one way of making sure a fun park is not viable I suppose, dont open any rides then of course it wont make any money !
it's still the same now, i had a look tonight from the arlington car park - the park is in a very sad state.
am i imagining it or have the 'new' owners even removed lots of established trees?

Rides do not need to be put up weeks in advance it would be pretty uneconomic to do so. Most can be put up within 24 hours of arriving on site.

Bob is correct. Most portable roundabout type rides can be assembled in a day.

Thanks for the photos Stuart. Fair to say that there's room for a few more additions... mind you, if there are any aficionados of mid-90s block paving out there this'll really float their boat.

In fact there's room for the dunking stall which we can put Mr Godden on, now that would give Stealth a run for its money.
Clearly this limitted collection of rides isn't going to be a major draw, but I do feel now that the show must go on. As such even if no more rides arrive rather than leaving the park closed for another weekend the rides should open regardless of what else is there. It's best to make a few pounds than no money atall. It still looks pretty desperate though...
