Webb's Amusments

Postby dave771 » 30 May 2006, 19:24

Have today visited the park for the first time this season and met with Charlton and George Webb. Charlton is very busy on the site but took the time to chat to me and show me around the park. After chatting at length with him I think too many people are expecting too much too soon! The park was fairly quiet, but regardless of this there were staff ensuring the site was kept clean, all rides were manned by staff wearing company uniform and the staff I spoke to friendly and helpful. One thing I must add is Donna's coffee and chicken burgers too, very nice and well worth buying a few when you visit the park ! There are so many things Webb's could of not done at the park, e.g, Electrical cables being buried rather than trailing on the ground, fencing on rides that you wouldn't normally find at a travelling fair etc. Please take into account that a travelling fair normally has an operator taking one ride with a few staff and can manage to build up in less than a day. Currently George and his sons are working to get the park looking good on their own and is a very big job to do. Have gone through with Charlton today the work that has been carried out on the Scenic and the other behind the scenes work that most people wouldn't notice so please support the park and not moan about not many rides being there or late opening dates as this can be affected by other factors. The Webb family do this for a living so opening late isn't really something I think they had planned to happen. Nice to meet Steve and his staff on the Zipper today too !

Yes i could not agree more David

The Webs are putting a lot of effort into the park for the summer season and are all for saving the park just like us.

They are an extremely nice family and their is no reason why we should be criticising them. Instead we should be being supportive and giving encouragement :D

It's great to have an operator who seems to care this year lets hope they will help us all to save Dreamland and make it profitable.
