Cheers for those links. It's a real shame that I couldn't be there but I look forwards to the documentary.

That photo from the Big Wheel is very sad. It's a shame about the Council, but I suppose we can't be too rude about them as we need to continue trying to win their support and pursuade them to adopt a different strategy. Going back to a question I asked a while ago did all the Conservatives vote the same way in the last vote or were there any 'rebel voters'?

Ok here's my update:

There was alot of discussion about thing's in the park that just didn't seem right, like for instance you have to pay in cash to go the Big Wheel. They don't take tokens and apparently this is because it was put there by Waterbridge and has nothing to do with the park (Even thought there are signs saying "Dreamland Fun Park Big Wheel".

Another thing we noticed was that they have blocked off the entrance to the park coming from the Arlington House Car Park with a big blue Fence (like the one around the Scenic). Is this meant to be another security messure?

The good old scenic was running well but I noticed the roof of the station has many wholes in it and from inside you can see some damage (pic below). Not sure if anyone else noticed but the scenic frontage sign seems to be needing a bit of a paint but then again doubt that will happen for a while.

From the picuture below it has a Buffet sign just below where the Dreamland sign use to be, has this been added recently or has it always been there (because it looks very close to where the old D use to be.

Lastly the signs around Dreamland look very tacky since it seems that the Arcade isn't going to be open this season. Hopefully this is just a set back of the opening day of the arcade because it use to bring to many people wondering through.

All in all I went on alot of the rides and enjoyed mayself alot and I would be greatful if anyone could reply with information about any of the above.

Again thanks, although if you want stuff painted you might have to explain to this Margate Regerneration Company what paint is and where they can obtain it.

Just to state the obvious there seems to be a step ladder on the Scenic roof. I'm a little confused at this as with so many closed buildings they must have no end of storage. We can hope that it is there for a positive reason but I have my doubts. Maybe they could have repaired the Scenic roof instead of tearing this sign down, but it doesn't really surprise me that they went for the sign.

As has been mentioned before the operators do seem to be being used as pawns to show it isn't viable, but I suppoe they are doing all they can.

My final point in a rambling point is in regards to those token vending machienes that Waterbridge promised to install. Have they surpirsed us and put them in yet?

Sorry this post has ended up so negative, but 'positive' and 'Margate Regeneration Company' don't really go together.

Well not that I have seen, they havn't installed any token vending machines. Another thing I just remember is that every shop under the scenic was closed but 1 (a photo shop) and I was wondering if anyone knew if Waterbridge is trying to let them out or anything for this season. There is so much space with all the mini shops and the old Scenic Cafe.

Don't get me wrong I think the Webb's are doing a great job but it seems Waterbridge aren't doin the work to the park that is needed.

Great photos Ian, and nice to meet you at the Live event on Saturday, along with the friendly Coasterforce crew.

If I had had a decent size memory card in my digital camera I would have taken a picture of what was the old Dreamland Park sign with the hand pointing to the right on what I believe is Belgrave Road (just on the corner of Papps fish and chip bar leading up the hill to the town shops).

As I had previously feared, after the vertical Dreamland signage removal from the cinema building, this too seems to have had quite a good "cover up" job done to it. It has had some charming black paint coated all over the former sign. Another piece of evidence to log this season that appears to deter the uninitiated park visitor. Quite a disgrace I felt, and the lady in the paper shop round the corner concurred with my comments on this whilst I had a chat with her regarding local issues re Dreamland etc.

PS Anyone got a photo of this to post here by the way? - that sign had been there for as long as I can remember.

I havn't but as I said will probally be heading back over to dreamland in the following couple of weeks and will take a picture of what it looks like now.
