I agree that southend and lincolnshire do very well and so could Margate
to make this park work the owners and the new or any potential lessee have to get together and work out a plan to encourage growth
I have to admit we offered a below average selection of amusements this year with no crowd pullers or big hitters
we really needed another coaster and a water ride and the likes of mellors in nottingham have fantastic equiptment at their disposal likewise do the crows from the northeast as do countless other professional amusement companys the rides we actually had in dreamland are what we call in the trade fillers... mediocre old reliables that are usually sited in between the big hitters to catch an extra few quid the closed units around the arcade and in fact the closed units inside the arcade tunnel did nothing to promote the park all of which could have been let at a nominal rent providing a hustle and bustle and an atmosphere of the place being alive
I really cant put the blame on the webbs as they were for one reason or another led up the garden path with no finances to back them up but who the hell would not check a potential lessees finances before awarding them a lease from a personal point my company always insists on bank references and a trading deposit before granting any person a lease on our pubs along with a credit check
I saw the books from last year and that is why i stupidly agreed to help out otherwise there was no way the park could open
the webbs did a lot of advertising albeit in the wrong places but they did try
next season I think a showmens guild member should be the minimum qualification to take the lease if it is going to be temporary as the guild do have rules in order to protect members and the public
I am not a guild member however feel that in order to keep the park open until a permanent custodian can be found the guild should be involved

I'm not sure feeding Bob is helpful to the campaign.
