Better to spend time writing about that fence than wasting time thinking Bob is involved in any way with Waterbridge or is talking out of anything but his rear end.
I so agree though that a major crappy development on the Dreamland site is not required.
This is a statement from a long and informed representation to a Public Inquiry which took place recently - a similar situation, a developer hoping to ruin a piece of our heritage in order to buid a 'commuter enclave':
New housing alone does not encourage the regeneration of towns – it holds the danger of making places dormitories which people leave first thing in the morning and return to last thing at night, without every properly investing in the area and its social networks. Reusing a building in the way that is proposed by xxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxx encourages people to visit an area, spend time there and support the shops and services within that area. This will have a much wider regenerative effect than new housing alone.
Interesting to see that in today's papers is an article about what makes people happy. Commuting long distances does not.
