Is Dreamland Opening This Year??

Postby bri223087 » 09 Mar 2007, 11:30

Does anyone know if there are plans to open Dreamland this year? I try and visit every year, and last year was so disappointing. I am hoping that if it does open this year, there will be some great rides and attractions.

I'm finding it ever increasingly difficult to enjoy a day out in Margate, in my opinion the town needs a major cash boost. I remember visiting a few years ago, and not being able to cram everything into one day, now I have difficulty in trying to find something to do.

I just can't belive that there has been little or no investment in Margate in the last few years. Coming from near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, I remember visiting there in the early 90's to find it dirty, and in need of investment. Now i'm not trying to say that they have done a good job, but Great Yarmouth Borough Council have invested in the Golden Mile, the Pleasure Beach (Although not as good as it used to be), have invested in more 'family rides' rather than the white knuckle rides, and the main seafront has benefitted from investment.

Surely if Margate is to survive these trying times with Budget Airlines offering us cheap flights to sunny desitinations, then Margate Town Council, and Thanet District Council should be investing to make sure that tourists (like myself), find soemthing to do in Margate, and support the local economy.

On a positive note, I did enjoy riding the Scenic last year!! lol
