In response to Bob's topic "Option C and Dreamland the Real Facts" I'm going to try and spot a pattern in the developers strategy.
1) The entire site will be sold to an amusement operator and developed as a state of the art amusement park (however option 'c' is apparently best for this because the developers don't believe option 'b' will allow them to ever build a gift shop!).
2) Most of the park will be sold to an amusment operator, however now a small portion will be developed as a farmers market".
3) The site will no longer be sold to an amusement operator but the entire site will be leased to showmen. Moreover the park will also include market stalls interspersed amongst the rides (like Fantasy Island).
4) Most of the site will be used as above however one corner will have a medium sized super market to serve the local area.
5) It's now been dcided that the above can not be viable and as such only a small amsuement area will exist around the Sencic Railway while the rest becomes a mixture of all weather leisure and retail
So far that is the latest but as can be seen the promises have gradually changed and each change goes against the Save Dreamland campaign. I'm not going to say this is all pre-planned as I realise we have to be careful what accusations we make, but if plans have changed this much so far how do we know the exisitng plan won't be replaced by another plan once the campign is over? The Save Dreamland vision has remained consitent, something we cannot say for the developers plan (if Bob's representation is accurate").
The reason I have made this topic is to demonstrate how each advancement on its own is not necessarily that drastic, but when you jump from idea 1) to idea 5) you see how vast the difference in their plans are.
All this suggests they can no longer be trusted and perhaps we may see many more changes unless the Council puts their foot down.
